We’ll continue working our way through the third and final Lost Girls book, and will continue to refine the Book 1 and 2 annotations. Thanks to all who have commented and otherwise contributed to these still very much work-in-progress annotations.

Lost Girls New Expanded Edition

Dorothy statue by Melinda Gebbie – from Lost Girls new expanded edition

The new Lost Girls Expanded Edition arrived at local comic book store shelves last week. The new edition is jointly published by Top Shelf (now part of IDW) in the U.S. and by Knockabout in the U.K. The single volume hardcover retails for $50.

The printing is, as one would expect, high-quality paper with richly reproduced colors. The printed comics pages appear to be the same as the original 2006 release. In the back are 30 pages of additional material.

All of the expanded material is artwork by Melinda Gebbie, with brief commentary by her. Continue reading “Lost Girls New Expanded Edition”

Basic Annotations Posted for Lost Girls Book 1: Older Children

Lost Girls Book One cover

They still need refining, but the annotations for Lost Girls Book 1 “Older Children” are published. Book 1 includes the first ten 8-page chapters.

Many of these chapters were published in the 1990s, then somewhat revised for the 2006 full publication. The annotations include a number of comparisons between the various Lost Girls publications.

See the annotations index page to access specific chapter pages.

We’ll continue working our way through the next two Lost Girls books, and will continue to refine the Book 1 annotations.

Planning to annotate Lost Girls

Dorothy – by Melinda Gebbie

The plan for this website is to annotate Lost Girls comics by Alan Moore and Melinda Gebbie. The annotations are somewhat underway here, though there’s no timeline for completing them right away. I’ll get to them when I get to them.

The Lost Girls comic book is adults only. For G-rated comics annotations, go to my all-ages website The Periodic Fable where I’ve annotated several Alan Moore comics.
